Heather grew up and studied on the west coast of Scotland. She is a contemporary Mixed Media and Abstract Painter, working mainly with Acrylics.

The inspiration for her paintings comes from her Scottish roots and her fascination with the marks which nature and man have sculpted into the landscapes and seashores at home and abroad.

Her work is Acrylic based, applied to canvas, paper on board and her contemporary landscapes are semi-abstract, vibrant and heavily textured.

Heather also paints abstract which allow her to experiment with colour to create a sense of freedom and atmosphere. She tries to balance the emotional and thoughtful response to what she sees and feels around her, using a limited palette to create an exciting composition.
