Lesley A Davies was born in Wiltshire on New Year’s Day 1972, and decided only five years later that art was her chosen vocation.
She began exhibiting and selling her work in the town when still only 20, and secured a number of commercial commissions over the next couple of years. After becoming mother she scaled back her art activities and gained a degree in Countryside Planning, in the belief that this opened the door to a more ‘stable’ career. After working in planning for a while, and seeing her daughter start a degree in illustration, she has decided to follow the instincts she had as a five year old and return to her brushes. Her work is varied, from seascapes inspired by the spectacular South West coastline, through fantastic castles and landscapes, to work which features characters and figures, drawing heavily on illustration techniques. She is based in Cirencester, where she has lived for most of her life.
